This restaurant is located off the square in Watertown, New York. I had been going by this place for a long time wanting to go in, so I finally went in with a friend for lunch. We walked in at about noon and found only two people at one table in the place. We would soon find out why no one was in the Beef and Brew.      We sat down and a lady came up to us and politely asked us if we had ever been there before. We told her no. She handed us each a piece of paper and told us this was our withdraw slip. I was instantly confused thinking she was giving us a quick draw slip to play the lottery. Before I could tell her we were there to have lunch and not play the lottery she then handed us menus and told us we had to match the number on the menu to what we wanted and then put it on the withdraw slip. I was confused and I hadn't even looked at what they served yet! My friend then leaned over and whispered to me that it use to be a bank so they were calling their order slips withdraw slips. Ok, it was kinda cute but if it would confuse me-and I have lived in the area all my life-it would for sure confuse anyone new to the area. The lady then said we had to take the slips to the window, place our order, pay and we would get a beeper and would be beeped when our order was ready. Um excuse me...are we in New York City on a Friday night? Ummmm no we aren't so don't be taking my money and giving me a beeper when you have no customers in Watertown New York at lunch time. I told the lady that was too much for me to understand or to do and we got up and left. Thanks but no thanks!!      Ok, so to be fair I had heard the food at this place was really great. So to be fair I called and talked to the manager to get his thoughts on this. He was friendly enough but wasn't about to give up his stupid idea of giving people beepers. I explained to him as a customer this was not acceptable to me as paying in advance and getting a beeper just shows me the business is looking for a reason and excuse not to quickly serve their customers. He defended his policy saying it was the only place around you could get a prime rib dinner for $10 something. I told him he could keep his prime rib dinner as I wouldn't be coming back in...he didnt seem to care. This business is a stay away! They showed they have no respect or care for their customers and have no interest in serving their customers. This is a business just in it for the money at any cost to the customer!! Go some where else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
